Shortcuts Corner - September 2016

Summer is winding down, and so did our June conference in Phoenix. What a great event to accommodate the needs of our members. If you missed it this year, please write the date on your calendar for June 23-25, 2017 in Atlanta. We all need to be there. It’s a great time to get together once a year face to face with our professional friends and coworkers.

Transitioning into fall offers a little downtime from the busy summer agenda. This could give you opportunity to re-evaluate your workflow needs. Would you like to become more productive than you are now? Do you utilize shortcuts or macros for your work environment? How many times do you type the same phrase, block of text, or subtitle during a full day of work over and over? Because we have the Windows operating system prominent in the PC world, it would be convenient to have all your shortcuts or macros reside in one place on your computer that can be accessed for any Windows application. Wherever the cursor flashes, the shortcut presents itself, but only with a universal Windows expansion system! Would you like to utilize your Word Perfect or Microsoft Word macros within your email window or across multiple transcription typing platforms? One macro file to launch relevant Keywords at the point of cursor was only something dreamed about back in the DOS operating system days. Today, technology continues to surprise us.

Does your macro expansion system calculate keystrokes and expansions totaling your text typed into relevant data? Would you like to know how much your expansion system actually gives back to you in productivity? In the intense work environment, we need to save every keystroke possible and be able to justify our application's relevance. A picture is worth a thousand words, so please notice what may apply to you. Happy typing, and let me know if I can help preserve your macros' relevance!
