Roll Out of Retooled CEU Program
By Geoffrey L. Hunt, Communications Committee Chairman
Since the inception of the Continuing Education Unit requirement, there has been an outcry from the membership for better CEU resources. At the request of President Buck Ewing, the Education and Certification Committees have analyzed and rebuilt our Continuing Education Units program. The results are now available for members to review on our website. Of specific importance are two very important documents.
The first is, Earn Continuing Education Units As You Increase Your Skills, Rules and General Information: Ways To Earn CEUs. This document is very informative and covers everything you will need to know regarding compliance with the CEU requirement. It answers many of the commonly asked questions posed by members regarding how to earn and maintain their CEUs. A helpful listing of CEU compliant providers is listed.
The second document, AAERT Continuing Education Program Rules, is a nuts and bolts description of the rules governing our Continuing Education Program. It provides a clear description of every facet of the CEU program rules.
Tonie Wallace, Education Chair and Ray Vetter, CER, Certification Chair have spent many hours retooling our CEU program. This process has been a long time in the making and badly needed to improve our continuing education services for our members.
In the coming months, these two committees will work to provide an increasing number of accessible as well as affordable CEU providers. If you are a certified member or seeking certification, these two documents will provide you with everything you need to know about the process. We hope you will take full advantage of this new program to keep educating yourself in your profession.
