General Session: Memory Magic
A recent study concludes that only 1% of adults, aged 40 and over, say that their memory is better than what it used to be. If you think that’s bad, what does it say about the other 99%? They are the ones who ask themselves, "Where’s my key?” "Where’s my phone?” And, "What did you say your name is again?” Are you one of these people, or don’t you remember? If so, you’ll want to attend this highly entertaining program that will prove you can improve your memory. It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s memorable.
Our speaker, Paul Mellor, didn’t always have a great memory. After years of frustration, Mellor decided to study the art of "How to Remember.” He learned that there’s no such thing as a bad memory, only an untrained one. A finalist in the 2008 USA Memory Championship, Mellor remembered the names of 99 people in less than 15 minutes, recalled, in order, over 100 single digit numbers after a 5-minute review, and memorized the exact order of a shuffled deck of playing cards after a three-and-a-half minute study. He presents seminars throughout the United States, has written extensively on memory improvement, and has been featured and quoted in several media, including The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and the USA Today.
At age 52, Paul Mellor’s memory is much better than when he was 22. How? He learned a few memory tricks that has motivated him to travel the country and share his knowledge. He has presented seminars to the Maine State Bar, New Mexico Bar Association, Hawaii Bar, Pennsylvania Bar Institute and to many court reporting associations throughout the United States and Canada. He resides in Richmond, Virginia.
