2. Electronic devices are wonderfully reliable.
E-Reporters, however, must pay careful attention to the status of their
equipment, as well as other courtroom details to ensure that:
- microphones are securely connected, are not covered up, or inadvertently
turned off;
- sound levels are adjusted for optimum audio-capture;
- participants are observed to be certain they are making an adequate record;
- notes are taken on events which occur during the proceedings, whether for
future playback or for future transcription.
