October 27, 2020 Webinar: Jury Trials – Pandemic Style: The plan followed by one Minnesota court

Conducting an in-person jury trial during the COVID-19 pandemic requires unique considerations never before required for the court system and digital court reporting.  In addition to steps taken to capture an accurate and complete digital record, careful thought is given to safety precautions for everyone involved, including social distancing, pathways in and out of the courtroom and the witness stand, how to conduct bench conferences, sanitizing and mask requirements, and more.

Official electronic court reporter for the Minnesota Judicial Branch, Margaret Morgan will describe the steps taken to report the first in-person jury trial that occurred on June 22, 2020 for Olmsted County District Court, Rochester, Minnesota.
