Word Encounters

by Laurel Stoddard, CET

Our favorite puzzle maestro, Laurel Stoddard, is at it again. Laurel is an avid reader and often has close encounters with new words. In ufology, a close encounter is an event in which a person witnesses an unidentified flying object. This month Laurel tries to baffle us with some of her word encounters. In Memory
Dianna Aldom, CET,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Dianna Aldom. Dianna passed away on Friday, 12/15/17, after a very short illness. Dianna was a well-respected and much-loved proofreader for many, many years. She was an extremely hard worker, always willing to lend a hand whenever needed and was always a pleasure to work with. She will be deeply missed by all.
